LEMMY's THE HEAD CAT Forced To Cancel Shows
September 16, 2008THE HEAD CAT, the psychobilly side-project of MOTÖRHEAD mainman Lemmy Kilmister which also features STRAY CATS' Slim Jim Phantom on drums/percussion and Danny B. Harvey (ROCKATS, 13 CATS, LONESOME SPURS) on guitar, has issued the following statement:
"It is with the greatest regret that we have to announce that the HEAD CAT shows in October has been canceled. We are incredibly sorry for the disappointment that this will cause. As many of you already know, Jim fell and broke his arm at last week's STRAY CATS show; specifically he has broken his wrist in three places and is now in a plaster cast up to his elbow. He had hoped that he would be able to play next month, but as you will understand, it is just not feasible for Jim to do this against his doctor's advice. Jim is devastated by this turn of events. Thank you all so much for your understanding and for the kind messages that have already been flooding into the site the accident. Apart from his understandable disappointment about canceling the shows, he wants you all to know that he's doing fine and thanks you for your support and well wishes."
The affected dates are as follows:
Oct. 08 - Dante's - Portland, Oregon
Oct. 09 - El Corozon - Seattle, Washington
Oct. 16 - House Of Blues - Anaheim, California
Oct. 17 - Roxy - Hollywood, California
Oct. 18 - Hard Rock Casino - Las Vegas, Nevada
According to a posting on THE HEAD CATMySpace page, the band is "a high-energy, take-no-prisoners combo" that was formed "just to remind the world how rock 'n' roll is supposed to fuckin sound. Forget all those rock posers who have nothing new to say, passing themselves off as the real thing. When it comes to real rock 'n' roll, these three guys have lived it, breathed it, bled it and have set the lifestyle example that all you rebels, rockers and outcasts should strive to follow!"
